User guide: Analytics and Core Web Vitals

Analytics and Core Web Vitals

Connect Google Analytics 4 to understand Organic Search landing-page results, and Google CrUX for real mobile field performance. Both are optional and need their own Google setup.

Connect Google Analytics 4

Enable the Google Analytics Data API in a Google Cloud project. Create a service account and grant its e-mail address Viewer access to your GA4 property. Under Integrations → Google Analytics 4, an owner or administrator supplies the service account's JSON credential. SCC encrypts it and does not display it again. This connection is separate from Search Console.

Under Project → Analytics, link the numeric GA4 property ID and start an import. Daily imports can then keep the latest 28 completed days current. Changing the linked property clears the previous property's imported data. Disconnecting the workspace credential stops imports while retaining stored results.

Understand the analytics figures

Imports include Organic Search sessions, conversions (GA4 key events) and purchase revenue for the project's bare and www hostnames. Conversions may be fractional because of attribution. Purchase revenue uses the property's currency and can include negative adjustments.

Dates use the property's timezone. Results show privacy thresholds and row-limit notices: an import is capped at 10,000 daily rows. Reports that cover dates outside the stored window display a partial-period warning. These figures also appear in page details and reports. Search clicks and sessions should not be expected to match.

Connect Core Web Vitals

Enable the Chrome UX Report API in Google Cloud. Under Integrations → Core Web Vitals, supply an API key restricted to that API. From a known URL in Pages, an editor can request a field-data check. Google quotas apply.

Results show mobile 75th-percentile LCP, INP and CLS, with their rolling collection dates. SCC requests URL-level data and does not silently substitute an origin-wide result. A low-traffic URL may have no data; that is not a pass or fail.

Where the results appear

Field data appears in Pages and Site audit, separately from crawler response timing. Opportunities can flag results with a collection window ending within the last 35 days when LCP exceeds 2.5 seconds, INP exceeds 200 milliseconds or CLS exceeds 0.1.

These are field measurements from real Chrome visits, not a Lighthouse laboratory test or a speed score generated by SCC.
